Hello! and welcome to our site. We are a husband and wife duo who likes to make food and experiment with new recipes. We decided we needed to take love for food and share it with our friends. We hope you enjoy our twist on some of our favorite recipes.
I've been trying to plan better lately and have more options to eat. As you may or may not know, the husband and I enjoy food so I like to get in variety with healthy and just overall good.
he other thing is that there are times when we forget to eat during the day or don't have time to heat up leftovers so the snack packs have become very helpful. I will say that I was on a massive bear hunt to find divided containers. I really wanted the Ziploc brand that had three compartments but could only find Rubbermaid with two compartments(http://www.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-Alongs-Storage-Container-Divided/dp/B0014CT9HI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1418526432&sr=8-3&keywords=rubbermaid+3+compartment+containers). Check it out here(LINK). Another downside to this purchase is it was only 3 packs of 3 so I have a total of 9 containers. Therefore, I am only prepared for 4 out of the 5 workdays. This allows for some flexibility in leftovers or what not. Pretty much each day was somewhat similar with slight variations.
1. Hard boiled egg, trail mix, sliced cucumbers, 10 slices salami, 8 baby carrots
2. Hard boiled egg, 1 celery stalk, 4 slices ham, 4 slices cheese, 1 apple
3. Hard boiled egg, sliced cucumbers, 8 carrots, fruit and veggie pack, almond quinoa bites(link)
4. Hard boiled egg, 1 celery stalk, 10 slices salami, almond quinoa bites, 8 carrots
The trail mix is from Target(http://www.target.com/p/archer-farms-handful-of-everything-trail-mix-11-oz/-/A-12942710#prodSlot=medium_1_17&term=trail+mix), and the Del Monte Fruit and Veggie packs are a good source of additional fruit and veggie servings. I actually found the almond quinoa bites at Marshalls. Everything else was a quick trip to the grocery store. Feel free to modify to what you want or copy these exactly. I love having different options and not just relying on leftovers from the meal the night before. Better yet, the husband even likes them!
